CDMA 2000: An Introduction

Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) is introduced first time as commercial product in USA at year 1989 by Qualcomm. CDMA is better evolving of old Wireless Telecommunication technology, Advance Mobile Phone System (AMPS). CDMA system is able to improve user capacity and voice quality. CDMA call as second generation (2G) in Wireless Telecommunication technology or we also can call it as second generation (2G) of Mobile Telecommunication technology. Yeah, wireless technology usually a mobile technology too.

Technique that use in CDMA, allow user to use the same frequency in same time. Each user has unique code (call as PN code) which uses to different each user. User gadget signal is spread in certainly bandwidth. That's why this system also known as spread spectrum system. In receiver, the user signal is despread by use the same PN Code so the original information can reconstruct perfectly. 2G prime services is voice and 2G technology perfectly can serve voice. But, there are many requests for mobile data communication service.

That's why 2G is not suitable anymore, and need another mobile telecommunication technology that can handle mobile data communication perfectly. That situation produces a new mobile telecommunication technology generation which is third generation (3G). In 3G environment, CDMA technology evolves be CDMA2000. CDMA 2000 is able to serve both voice and high speed data communication. The high speed data which can be served by CDMA 2000 is wireless internet, wireless email, wireless telecommuting, telemetric, wireless commerce and location based service.

In wireless system, securing the information become very important thing because data transaction is did in open air. There are many issues in wireless telecommunication system such as interference, tapping, and illegal access. Users must be sure that the security is perfect. Users surely must be sure that their data is not forged and the data should keep secret.

And also tell that security is important thing in CDMA 2000 as wireless mobile technology. Yeah, I do not write the technical side because it is only an introduction anyway.
